This page is an always-up-to-date index of the ongoing Overland Cruiser article series I’m doing over at Summit Racing’s On All Cylinders blog. Right now it’s looking like 17 articles total, running into 2026. Just click on the image or article title to go to the article, or check out “Next Up” to see what’s coming down the road…
Parts 3 and 4 will cover shop teardown, inspection, and machining. This project is just getting started, so there’s plenty more to do after that. What gets done and in what order, depends on when the needed parts arrive, when outside services (steering gear rebuild, injector cleaning, things like that) are performed, and which other things have to get done first.
Right now, the most likely candidates for Parts 5, 6, and 7 are tires-wheels-brakes, regearing / driveline refresh, and interior makeover. If any of that changes, I’ll post it up here.
Two things I do NOT have any leads on are a good paint job or wrap in the Los Angeles area, and a high-quality rebuilt A343F transmission. Suggestions welcome, just drop me a line via the Contact Page.
A few of the goodies already lined up include products from 4×4 sPOD, ARB, Baja Designs, Dakota Digital, DC Power, Eaton, Explore Glazing, Factor/55, Falken, Garmin, Goose Gear, Griffin, Magnuson, Manley, Maxtrax, Mickey Thompson, Milwaukee Tool, Odyssey, Power Stop, REDARC, SureCall, Terrain Tamer, VIAIR, Warn, Wright Tool, Yukon Gear & Axle, and more–so stay tuned!
